Easy wind and downy flake
Jan. 10th, 2007 07:53 amI hear we're going to get more snow. Boo to that. Went and saw Breeze last night. She's cute, and sweet. Short neck, nice mover. She didn't blow me away with her gaits, but I tried her and she seems like a good girl- I like her better than Willow. As I rode and talked to her her ears kept moving, and it seemed like she was very interested and listening. Still not sure though- she's going to be out of comission being a mommy for several months, and part of me really wants a spectacular mover- as my husband puts it, "a horse with a floaty step". I've been looking since November, and I don't mind taking my time. It does seem like every time I think "Yeah, I'll go for this one" I find out there's a reason I can afford the horse- something physically wrong.
Still waiting for a couple of new videos- a 4 y.o. Trakehner mare, a 4 y.o. Canadian warmblood mare (who I really like in her quicktime clips -- but dealing with Canada again excites me not at all...) a 2 y.o. filly by Lisa Wilcox's Relevant, and some trakehner fillies from another farm in Canada. Then there's a Dutch/QH cross a couple of hours away that I think I have to go see- he's black with a blaze and 4 white feet- my favorite color and markings. :) Must....keep...priorities...straight...
Rode Fontana last night- I struggled some with my position-- my legs didn't want to relax and stretch, and I really fought to try to get my upper body straight. Fontana had a good night though and compensated some for me. I think she's getting stronger and her attitude was good (funny that when in heat she actually seems more amiable). Her canter was pretty good and she seemed to enjoy the excercise. I had Nadia snap a couple of pics and I'm happy to see her progress- it's not earth shaking, but I can tell she's coming along.
