So Friday evening I go to pick up "the baby" (he's almost 2) to take him into the kitchen for dinner. Baby wants to play and so pulls away toward his toys, and I try to pick him up anyway. My back goes *TWINGE...PAIN* and gives out. Great. I was really sore all night and the next day and had to have the hubby do all heavy lifting (yes, struggling toddlers count as heavy lifting). Didn't even try to ride Saturday. Sunday I got on and did walk/trot (posting only) and a wee bit of canter (which was at least nice- good transitions and not too unbalanced)- only did about one 20 meter circle each way. At least the work was good, though there wasn't a lot of it.
Hoping my back is back to normal by the clinic - 2 weeks away....
RFD has been showing some old symposiums with Conrad Schumacher, and I'm really enjoying them, though I watch the 5 and 6 year olds and think "Yeah right!" when I compare them to Trudi (and to be fair, compare the riders to me). Still, it's something to shoot for, and it's good to know what a horse that age may be capable of.
