and downs...
Aug. 29th, 2007 08:10 amCrappy old time last night. 1st clue: after I climbed on I went, "Wow, my neck is really tense, I can barely turn my head." (Yes, lots of stress at work). 2nd clue: "Wow, I'm really irritable tonight." 3rd clue: "We're really not getting anywhere". It was just one of those rides where stuff went wrong, I made it worse, and I couldn't let go. One of those nights where I think of how much more money and free time I would have if I quit riding. What went wrong? Tense me, tense horse. Nervous, rushing, worrying. Kind of funny, but the only blown lead was going to the left- she actually took the right lead instead. Trudi was running through the bit and I pulled instead of giving and taking. In the end there were still a couple of good things (like the halfhalt the well and truly went through- suddenly my horse was trotting on air for a few seconds), but overall I wish I had stayed home. I know there are always ups and downs- just have to find a way to let this one go and have a better ride next time. At least she wasn't lame. *wanders off grumbling*
