Dec. 21st, 2007 08:17 amRode again last night, hooray. Ups and downs- more shying (sigh) which she worked out of (good). Some really good canter, a little not very good, more good, a couple of blown leads (almost NEVER happens- was taking her to the left and she picked up the right lead twice- interesting since the right has always been harder for me) and a bit more decent canter when she did finally pick up the left. There was one point where I sat up and took my leg OFF (I didn't think it was on, but anyway) and Trudi went, "Oh, ok, slower, more relaxed canter." It was VERY NICE. I'm still trying to learn to really ride the mad trot coming out of the canter- it has tons of impulsion but it overflows and spills everywhere- she goes like a train and her legs fly every direction. I pretty much told myself to buck up and figure out how to make this trot work, and managed to get her shoulders in a bit going left- POOF! Trot stopped rushing, instant balance due to the straightness. HMMMMM.
Sometimes I really wish it was easier to put all the pieces together....
Feeling sort of like we're on the cusp of SOMETHING again.
