Jun. 8th, 2008 09:15 pmBeautiful weather this weekend- blue skies, temps in the 70s, and a light breeze.
I turned Trudi loose for a little while Friday evening and had her canter around a bit. She was good on Saturday and only tried to pop her inside shoulder in the spooky corner - I tapped her lightly on the shoulder with the whip when she seemed determined to ignore other aids and she straightened out. Very good work- lots of forward but mostly contained, and the trot has been really fun because she's balanced and connected and not rushing, but not being lazy either. Canter work was good too- it was some of the most collected and relaxed canter she's ever done, and after that we called it a day. I gave her sugar and pats and she seemed pretty proud of herself.
Sunday was more of the same- she was energetic but obedient, and we had another relatively short day- the good canter was there both directions, and we did a little bit of half steps and a few steps of medium trot. This is exactly what I've been wanting- the energy is there but it's channeled into the work. Yay for Trudi!
