Jul. 27th, 2010 08:26 amRode in the outdoor last night- the barn was hopping, which was a strange experience. Apparantly people are starting to ride in the evening to beat the heat. Even at 8pm it was still very warm though.
Trudi was hot but not quite as bad as on Saturday, in spite of one of the neighbor's yappy little dog running over to her. She was really bringing her hindquarters in to the left, so after we warmed up I did a step of turn on the forehand, then walked or trotted off, and next corner, same thing- and it seemed to help engage it. Right hind was not keeping up either so that needs work too- basically the inside hind needed to come to the outside, and the outside hind needed to come more foreward- a bit tricky. It's always so hard to start over after losing fitness- my core has gone to pot again and I need to fix me to fix her more. But it wasn't bad overall- things were definately better at the end than at the beginning. There was some actual stretching and throughness here and there and mental state was better. I need a lesson badly though. In any case, yay for riding.
