Saturday and Sunday had beautiful weather- 70-80 degrees. Saturday she came out hot but I knew she would be good, and she was. She finally seems to be accepting that the default tempo for trot is slower than it used to be, and we got to work on the canter a bit more. It's coming, but still going to take a while to get it slow and steady all the time. At least now she sometimes comes back after speeding up- transitions are getting better both up and down. We finished up saturday after a canter with a nice downward to trot, where we did shoulder in, then travers, renvers, and a leg yield each way. The shoulder in's are getting to be "real" - I can now establish the bend with the inside leg, then use the outside leg to increase the angle by getting more power from the outside hind.
Sunday she started off well- very flexible in the body, but we heard some kind of bad accident that sounded like about a 12 car pileup. After that she had a big spook at something and she was on the lookout for things to be afraid of. We kept working but she wasn't quite as attentive and relaxed as I would have liked. Onward...

The other cool thing? Having a moment where things are getting hard, and I think "I'll have to stop soon because I'll get too tired..." and then being able to keep going, because I am finally getting into better shape.
