Boot review
Nov. 10th, 2010 08:20 amSo, the boots I got were Ariat Bromonts . These are last year's model for insulated paddock boots, so they were less than half the price of this year's model. I bought them off ebay from Hitching Post Tack, and they were really great to deal with.
Cons- They are kind of ugly from the side. They look like a moon boot and a paddock boot had a baby. They look fine from the top.
They are a bit bulky- when my stirrup bounced off the ball of my foot toward my heel, it kinda got stuck to the boot. They have decent heels on them so your foot won't go through, and if I fell I think my foot would slide free of the stirrup, but it's kind of annoying.
They run a little big. The people who wrote reviews that said they are true to size are liars. They are responsible for my last complaint (jerks) ^_^.
Laces- I wanted zip and could have got it in an 8.5, instead, thinking that they would be sized like my other ariats, I got 9 in laces. The main gripe with the laces is that I have to tie and untie them, also one tongue needs to learn to go in the center of my ankle, please.
Pros- They were cheap. They are warm. They are waterproof. They have a really good footbed and heel. The laces stay tied, and there are speed laces. They seem pretty well made, and I think they will be durable. My last pair of insulated ones were, and I basically would put them on at home, drive to barn, clean stalls or whatnot, wade through mud to catch horse, ride, and drive back home.
Still breaking them in, but they were not really uncomfortable, although my ankles got a little sore from the stiffness there.
So there ya go.
