So Trudi was very good Tuesday night- she's in heat but was fairly calm, and very good in her back- up and loose and we had decent energy, and I liked the trot which was stretchy and adjustable and still very balanced. Canter was probably the best it's been- again, great over her back, very balanced (the circles felt easy-peasy) and she kind of waited to see what I wanted- I was like "Say, how bout the hind legs come under a bit more, toward the front?" and she was like "ok" with no attitude of any sort. Yay pony.

Hoping to ride tonight, now that it has STOPPED SNOWING. Nothing accumulated (here), but still, seeing flakes in May is kind of annoying. My lawn is loving the moisture though.

The unthinkable has happened.

I plan to get my next pair of dress boots with zippers.

Seriously, I have always hated zippers in dress boots, but it is just getting too dang hard to get my tall boots off and on. Last time I was at a show and had been sweating a lot, getting out of my boots gave my a charlie horse, and that's when the tide began to turn. This spring I've been trying to get my current tall boots on, and it takes like 5 minutes, depending on which breeches and socks I wear- but it just doesn't seem worth it anymore. I'm giving into the old.

Why do I hate zippers? I don't really like how they look, and I have bad luck with zippers. I always break zippers on things- coats, boots, what have you. So do y'all know where/how you actually get riding boot zippers replaced, since someday, when I can afford new boots, I can be prepared?

Also, if anyone has recommendations of one brand over another for the best zippered boots, that would be good to hear too.
