Aug. 6th, 2011 10:10 pmYay, got to ride outside today- a little lumpy/hard in spots, but not too bad. Trudi was being a goober over some fake flowers she has seen 10,000 times before and the neighbor's little yappy dog put in a couple of appearances. We started out with some good walk and trot and connection was pretty good. She did a bit of swingy-hind-legs shoulder-in which was nice. Canter she got hot and was constantly offering canter and when not offering canter, constantly anticipating canter. Anyway- right lead canter was not bad, but to the left the right hind was not there. I don't really know where it was, I just know it was not under the horse. We careened around quite a bit trying to find it, and eventually it put in a brief a appearance- and later was a little more consistant when we did a few transitions and brought the haunches in a little. It seems like the outside hind is there more often when I am sitting to the outside- and instead I need to sit to the inside (but of course, not TOO much), and figure out a way to do it that doesn't let the outside hind escape.
Afterwards I gave her a great bath and she didn't even mind having her face washed (cept the ears). She looked lovely and I'm sure this will be nothing but a sweet memory tomorrow when I'm brushing through clouds of dust. :P
