Ok lesson on saturday- Trudi was a little spooky for a minute and it was cold. It seemed like when we got done we hadn't really done a whole lot, till I started driving home and my legs began complaining. On Sunday, Trudi was being a psycho- spooking, getting hollow, rushing around- but after 20 minutes of trying to ride it out and wanting to kill her, she did some really great work. We did what I consider the equivalent of horsey suicides (you know, those things where you have to drop to a crouch, kick your legs out behind you, jump them back to crouch, and leap up into the air)-- transitions every quarter or half of a 20 meter circle. We did like 50 transitions total. These kind of got her attention and took some energy, and she started doing a pretty darn good job- the canter especially was nice, and after that we got a bit of medium trot on purpose- still not nearly as much as I know she can do, but definitely a difference from her working trot.
So I'm glad for the good stuff, but I would still like a sane horse from the start...
