Dec. 17th, 2007 09:15 am1st ride all week in Saturday's lesson... wasn't awful but Trudi was still vaguely psychotic- hot n spooky. Yes, that's right, she was HOT. *Sigh* Going to the left I was actually riding her pretty straight, but to the right we tried a shoulder in and her forehand and hindquarters were completely disconnected- it was like riding 2 diferent horses. Trainer sent us on some small circles and eventually Trudi got connected and through, then viola, the shoulder in was good and my horse got straight. Canter had a brief moment where heaven shone down on us- I had her straight and balanced, and gave a half halt that actually went through. Trainer was like "Hallelujah!" and it seemed to really impress the hell out of her. She was all "OMG, your HORSE!". How nice it would be if we could ever repeat the feat. :)
This winter, ack. I've been spoiled by our mild winters the last couple of years- I'm just dying for the 50 degree sunshiny break I've come to expect after a couple of days of snow/cold. Ran into an old friend which was really fun and a total surprise- little sneak didn't tell me I might see her out there. :)
Yesterday went Christmas shopping and I'm almost done...maybe I'll actually get to ride this week. :O
