(no subject)

I woke up dazed and confused, and got out to the barn late. Went and got my pony, and she was caked in mud. AND she's shedding her summer coat. Horse, you are no longer in Canada. Our hottest months are yet to come. Please don't grow your winter coat yet.
I scrape off some of the mud, put on the saddle, go to put on her boots (yes I was going to be a bad mom and wait till after I rode to clean her feet)- hind leg is warm and very swollen.
I think she got kicked or something- no big wounds anywhere -- I hosed it off and the swelling went down some. She was ok at the walk but lame at the trot. If she's not better tomorrow I think I'll call the vet. :(
