I went out to the barn last night and checked Trudi's leg - the swelling is pretty much all gone (yay hose) although she still has a bump, probably the spot where the leg was hit. I free lunged her and held my breath when I put her into the trot, trying to decide if she was a little uneven or not. She seemed stiff overall but loosened up after a little while. When I told her to walk and she sailed on in trot I figured she must be feeling ok, so I tacked her up to try an easy ride.

After almost 2 weeks off, Trudi REMEMBERED her ride with Bent. She totally brought her back up, got round and came through, and if I could have looked inside her head I know I would have seen a picture of him in there. We just did walk/trot, and it was so fun. It's amazing how much I missed riding in such a short time. It was awesome to just sit well and have the horse be right there, all put together. I started to lose it by the end, (I know, this says terrible things about me that I can undo his work so fast) but it was a really cool experience. I have a glimmer of understanding for what he wants- I'm not able to get there yet, but Trudi is, and at least I felt it. I realized that I don't have to constantly move out of position to "help" the horse- it doesn't really help and I have to quit doing it. I also realized I have a tendency to fix my hands, and I need to push them forward sometimes to allow it to go all the way through to the bit.
