Nov. 7th, 2008 08:04 amThere's a chill in the air... last night felt COLD. I had to put on a long sleeved shirt, down vest, and down coat before I felt warm. Trudi was quite good- we rode inside and I decided to try and take it easy and relax a bit, and pretty much just ignored the shennanigans. She responded well to it, partly because her favorite horse in the whole world was in the arena with us- a little dark bay TB gelding. We did lots of suppling and changing directions and had some ok canter, and then she decided to be generous and not go hollow while I tried to convince my legs to get back under me and my torso to stretch up. A little more canter, a trot transition, and then we nailed the trot for a lap each way. She was even perfect through the rein change and perfect through the BC- I had my legs under me and my tummy burning, she had her back up and was stretching to the bit (and her tummy was burning too I bet). It was so nice just to not worry and to be pleasantly surprised.
