Nov. 20th, 2008 07:54 amThe lovely warm weather continued early this week- however by the time I got to the barn on Tuesday, at 4:45pm, the sun had already set. :( Trudi and I were sad, because had been a beatiful day but was too dark to ride outside. I was looking forward to taking it easy and popping over some teeny jumps, but it was not to be- (the jumps are outside). We were both a bit surly and resistant about riding inside. We were both stiff, and Trudi was SO not interested in bending to the right. I tested myself and was SORELY lacking- I was (am?) getting all twisted to thr right, so it was hard to get her through and going to the rein at all through her right side. I was struggling to find a way to supple her- eventually going left and couter-bending to the outside seemed to help, and we did the normal stuff of flexing and bending and holding till she gave and spiraling on a circle, and riding shoulder-fore and shoulder-in-- it was just really difficult and took a long time. We finally got it but I was sort of amazed by how many different places that were stuck or just not RIGHT- how many things needed to be fixed in order to get her somewhat put together. The only solace came from the fact that the canter was a bit less speedy, which I think was due to the warm temperature.
