The lovely warm weather continued early this week- however by the time I got to the barn on Tuesday, at 4:45pm, the sun had already set. :( Trudi and I were sad, because had been a beatiful day but was too dark to ride outside. I was looking forward to taking it easy and popping over some teeny jumps, but it was not to be- (the jumps are outside). We were both a bit surly and resistant about riding inside. We were both stiff, and Trudi was SO not interested in bending to the right. I tested myself and was SORELY lacking- I was (am?) getting all twisted to thr right, so it was hard to get her through and going to the rein at all through her right side. I was struggling to find a way to supple her- eventually going left and couter-bending to the outside seemed to help, and we did the normal stuff of flexing and bending and holding till she gave and spiraling on a circle, and riding shoulder-fore and shoulder-in-- it was just really difficult and took a long time. We finally got it but I was sort of amazed by how many different places that were stuck or just not RIGHT- how many things needed to be fixed in order to get her somewhat put together. The only solace came from the fact that the canter was a bit less speedy, which I think was due to the warm temperature.

Well I'm volunteering at the usdf convention for a day, and it sounds like I should be able to visit the trade fair after, though if the cost to the vendors is anything like the cost to the atendees, prices will be too steep for me to afford anything. Still, it should be fun to help out some horsey people. :)
