On the usdf convention...
Nov. 18th, 2008 07:31 amSo the USDF convention is going to be in Denver. I thought this was pretty exciting, untill I looked at the costs.
Even with a GMO discount, the prices are staggering. These are the "discounted" costs.
Convention- $299
Con & Symposium - $599
Symposium only - $419
Symposium 1 day - $239
Let's compare/contrast this to the sort of convention I've visited before- say an anime convention - Nan Desu Kan is $35. Project A-kon is $30 (pre reg).
What is so great about the USDF stuff that it needs to cost 10 times more? It's not like they're flying the horses in...
I might try to volunteer for a day, I dunno. I kinda wanted to visit the vendors and drool over all the tack, but at those prices there's no way, unless the "dealers room" is free.
