Friday morning I think I pulled a muscle, so I spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mostly laying around the house, in pain, and being a pain, to my family. Monday I attempted to make amends by baking muffins with the kiddo (and still snapped at him at one point *sigh*) but at least the muffins were good (homemade strawberry/raspberry. I then attempted to take him to the pool, and it turns out all pools close early on the 4th of July, which, for the record, in my opinion, is stupid.
I promised to take him swimming next weekend and instead we went to Target and looked at toys for an hour, and he got a leggo ninja out of it so we were all good. Did a picnic/fireworks that night and I finally felt better.
Tuesday I rode lightly- just walk/trot stuff for about 45 minutes. It went really well- I shortened my stirrups their final hole (I think) and they may be a smidge too short, or they might actually be right now. I'll have to get some pics and see. Also in my quest to improve my position, I read some "Centered Riding" and I still love that book. I was stacking my building blocks (which oddly contain tiers of a wedding cake in my mind, I dunno why that is except that the stacking concept is similar) and directed my cross streams of water, and had a good old time.
Cleaned my saddle, and my bridle, gave Trudi a bath, and then thinned her mane some- have started using scissors instead of pulling it all, which goes much faster, but I made a mistake at one point and got too much hair too far from the root and now that part looks like crap. Sigh. It will grow out eventually....
Neck/back still sore today, though only on one side now, and I have most of my mobility back. Hoping to be back to 100% in a few more days- we'll see.
