Oct. 13th, 2007 09:21 pmHad my first lesson in like over a month, and we needed it. Trudi wasn't as expressive as she was on Tuesday, but she was a good girl. She seemed to tire quickly though, so I think growing her winter coat may actually be taking up energy. She hung on me a little bit which she's never done before- in a way it's good because she isn't avoiding the bit, but I'm going to be careful not to let it become a habit. Canter transitions were good, and the best thing about them was that there was absolutely no rushing. No, "OMG WE'RE GOING TO CANTER" *spazz*. Jessica had me work on my postion and seat, both of which have gone to pot, and as soon as I fixed the way I sat, Trudi got much better. As for Trudi, we worked on keeping her back swinging, and Jessica said it swung the whole time. I asked how the championships went (3rd level), and she was very nonchalant- "Oh...we won."
In other news, hubby's arthritis is getting very bad :( so now he gets weekly shots. This among other things kinda convinced me to go ahead and do another Bent clinic this year- gotta be careful to balance the "life is short" philosophy with the reality of work and finance though.
